How does sanitisation work?
Chem-Dry’s hospital-grade sanitiser destroys bacteria, mould, and viruses with a twofold approach: Step One, our sanitiser destroys the outer lipid shell of microorganisms, exposing their insides and effectively killing them. Step Two, our sanitizing spray denatures proteins, which deactivates even viruses with a protein coat instead of a lipid shell.1
While this two-pronged approach makes our disinfectant powerful enough to rid your home of bacteria, it is also free from harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia. Our process is safe for pets, children, or your home’s and workplace surfaces.
We apply our cleaning sanitiser with electrostatic equipment, which creates a thin, perfectly even layer of antimicrobial disinfectant. This method makes it safe to apply to electronics and sensitive items, while still giving an effective antimicrobial cleaning.
How does long-term antimicrobial protection work?
Adding the MicroPro Shield package to your service will give your surfaces up to 90 days of antimicrobial protection2. Using the same electrostatic equipment, our technician applies a microscopic layer of self-assembling spikes. These spikes, while too small to be felt or seen, mechanically destroy bacteria, mould, and viruses. The positively charged spikes attract the negatively charged microorganisms, effectively destroying them and protecting your home and workplace.
Our sanitiser and our antimicrobial spray are registered with the EPA and meet their standards for protecting your home against viruses, mould, and bacteria.
Three Steps to Long-Lasting Antimicrobial Protection
- Identify problem areas
Identify the highest traffic surfaces in your home or workplace. These might include things like light switches, cupboards, and doorknobs. Also, consider the high-danger areas. Is there a portion of carpet or floor that is frequently wet? This might be a breeding ground for bacteria, mildew, and mould.
- Initial sanitization
A trained Chem-Dry technician will apply our safe and effective sanitiser with electrostatic application equipment. This thin, even, and safe coating will reduce microorganism populations to near zero in treated surfaces.
Our cleaning sanitiser is approved by the EPA for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19.
All technicians wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow social distancing guidelines while within your home.

With MicroPro Shield, our technician uses the same electrostatic equipment to create a microscopic layer of spikes on treated surfaces. These spikes attract and kill microorganisms for up to 3 months after application.
